I'm Alive

Hi Mom. I'm alive, just haven't been blogging because aside from getting to go to Disney World, all I've really done is sit around and hang with my bestie Emily, who flew home today. :( Oh, one thing that DID happen was I came back to the dorm...Monday night and the second I walked through the door a wall of heat hit me hard. I was drenched in sweat in .2 seconds. I didn't think too much of it because I had been away all weekend and figured I'd grown accustomed to really good air conditioning. But then...I came back Tuesday night after hanging out with Emily and the room was still stifling. Like suffocatingly so. I asked my roommates if it felt hotter (because it was a good 10 degrees warmer in our room than in the hallway) and they agreed. So at 9pm I went into our school server and put a complaint that our room's AC was broken. There wasn't ANY air coming out of the vent. By noon today I recieved an email saying my request had been closed and the so...

Favorite Photos From My 20th

Image
Hi Mom! Most of the photos are on Facebook so I decided to just post my favorites from today. But before the photos I just want to thank my bestie Emily for flying down and humoring me by following me around Magic Kingdom all day (eight hours). Tackling Disney World with one of the Mask Clan is not an easy task.  We took the whole day pretty slow, doing things that we felt like and not hurrying about, which was definitely different for me when it comes to Disney. But it was enjoyable and I didn't revel in the things we missed which included: having waited a half hour in line for Big Thunder Mountain for the ride to stop working right when we got near the front, and Pirates of the Caribbean was down for repairs till the end of September (which is what we went straight to when we got ushered off of Big Thunder). I didn't really let it get to me because guess what? I'll be back to Disney before Christmas! And next time I'll get to share it with my family and my ...

Downtown Disney Afternoon

Image
Hi Mom. So today was the first of our exhausting weekend we have planned. After my morning of classes, Emily and I hightailed it over to Orlando, listening to Broadway and Starkid the entire way. And of course, right when we got into Orlando it started to downpour. Luckily, like Florida rains tends to do, it passed and came in spurts so we managed to walk around by not getting too wet, and the heat was controlled. It was seriously weird to be walking through World of Disney without my family. Though I had Mom's voice in the back of my head whenever I picked up something that was expensive, okay more of that face she makes when I give her the puppy dog eyes.  I decided to take pictures of everything I wanted to buy. Because I am a responsible adult and have to budget the little money I have as a college student. So here are the things I was pining after. This version of Sully is legit disturbing.  And of course I had to take the traditional...

By the Pool

Image
Hi Mom. After my morning class I headed over to Emily's Aunt's condo. Such a bad view. Idk how people live like this.  Spent most of the afternoon in the pool and catching up with my bestie (we took a picture but when I uploaded it it was flattering no one so it stays far away form here. On the way home I saw a Wawa and decided to stop and get myself a famous milkshake, which was raved about by my Uncle Johns. Definitely worth the hype. Opted for the mint chocolate cookies and cream cause I mean mint chocolate cookies and cream. Now I've got a raging headache and will probably go to bed early. Tomorrow Emily and I leave for Orlando!

Birthday Week Gifts Pt.1

Image
Hi Mom. I'm titling this Part 1 of birthday gift because I know a few more are on the way. I received two emails from the mailing office, letting me know I had packages to pick up. Soon they will know my name when I walk up. First was from Mom and Dad (hi Mom). A birthday care package that included a birthday card, snickerdoodles, gummy bears, four new itty bittys, a laundry duffle, a Colorado tshirt, spa facial mask (which I know has been sitting in Mom's bathroom for a few months now), my favorite picture of them when they were youngins, a collage picture of us at Disney World, a set of cards I assume is a subtle hint at writing thank you notes, and a cardboard bus things that I know is meant for the itty bittys...I've just not yet learned how to use it properly. First picture is of the moment I opened the box - sorry for it being out of focus. My phone likes to think it's smarter than me. (S.M.R.T)  All of my itty bittys now lined up. They will stay ther...

Lists Because I'm Organized

Hi Mom. 1)I love the fact that EVERYONE had Ringling knows how ridiculous the tuition is. Teachers, students and even community members joke about it. And we have to make it a joke because actually thinking about how much debt we will be in for the rest of our lives is crippling. *laughter that turns into crying* 2) My Storytelling teacher said he doesn't like the book 'Catcher in the Rye' and I was sooo happy. Because I hated that book in high school and most teachers (my mother included) kind of just wrote off my dislike as being a kid. But my 51 year old teacher just said what I've been thinking and made me like him that much more. 3) I'm feeling officially moved in. Mainly because my bed is comfortable (it's basically a nest of pillows and a humongous mattress topper), I'm a little more familiar with driving around, and I've got a routine down for most days. 4) I just ate a Fiber One brownie so I apologize to my roommates for the sounds that ...

Flying phone

Image
Hi Mom. So today my phone decided to leap off my desk and face plant onto the hard tile floor of my dorm room. Luckily my case and screen protector did their jobs and a new screen protector is on its way. Praise Jesus. That's pretty much the excitement of my weekend, aside from the new Dragon Age Inquisition DLC trailer being released (and it comes out a few days after my birthday). Coincidence? I think not! Sorry for the language in trailer grandparents who read this.
