Favorite Photos From My 20th

Hi Mom!

Most of the photos are on Facebook so I decided to just post my favorites from today. But before the photos I just want to thank my bestie Emily for flying down and humoring me by following me around Magic Kingdom all day (eight hours). Tackling Disney World with one of the Mask Clan is not an easy task. 

We took the whole day pretty slow, doing things that we felt like and not hurrying about, which was definitely different for me when it comes to Disney. But it was enjoyable and I didn't revel in the things we missed which included: having waited a half hour in line for Big Thunder Mountain for the ride to stop working right when we got near the front, and Pirates of the Caribbean was down for repairs till the end of September (which is what we went straight to when we got ushered off of Big Thunder). I didn't really let it get to me because guess what? I'll be back to Disney before Christmas! And next time I'll get to share it with my family and my wonderful Jason. 

I'm becoming pretty accustomed to the heat and humidity. It didn't bother me nearly as much as it did Emily, because by the time we were waiting for the 3:00 Festival of Fantasy parade I thought I was going to lose her. But luckily, some clouds moved in and by the time the parade was halfway done she had a smile on her face again, and not that "i'll-kill-you-if-you-touch-me" look.  In a perfect world we would have made it till 10pm to see Wishes but we left around 5 because both of us were beyond exhausted.

I only bought three things: the Splash Mountain photos, a Nightmare Before Christmas tshirt that has Jack and Sally and says, "we're simply meant to be", and a mug for Jason that I'd almost bought yesterday when we were at Downtown Disney but refrained. I'd decided today that he needed it. So I only spent about $60 (not counting my park ticket which WAS cheaper thanks to Bill and Julie's birthday present: Disney gift card). I feel like a responsible adult! Which I mean I sort of am now that I'm officially past my teenage years. 

Both Emily and I took showers when we got back to the McCray Pad and ordered a yummy white sauce and chicken pizza. I'm currently forcing Emily to watch one of my favorite movies: 'Hector and the Search for Happiness', which honestly just makes me miss my Jason that much more because it one of our favorite movies to watch together. I will drown my sorrows in cookie cake. 

All in all, not too shabby of a birthday. :D Definitely don't want to go back to school and have Emily go away again.

Mailing Mishaps

Hi Mom. Had some mailing issues recently. Nothing too terrible that digging a little further couldn't solve. A few weeks ago I used the amazon gift cards I received to buy a few things. 2/4 had arrived while 3/4 should have. I got my small portfolio to hold some class work, and my new Mickey lanyard. My mandala tapestry should have gotten here on Monday (which my tracking thing said it DID ITS SOMEWHERE) but when I asked the mailing office if they had it they looked it up and said they didn't. Um okay? Even though it is tracked by scans and the scan SAID it was left at the front desk. They suggested I wait a few days cause it might mean that its in Sarasota but not at Ringling. EVEN THOUGH IT SAYS ITS DELIVERED I LITERALLY DO NOT UNDERSTAND THEIR LOGIC. So I waited. Till today (Friday). What motivated me was my lovely parents' care package arrived. AT LEAST THAT GOT HERE. Medical Issues

Hi Mom. Guess who woke up with Pink Eye. Bet ya can't guess which eye it is. Just kidding. So went over to the Health Services building for my first walk in. Filled out the usual new patient forms and waited.  Then, something else happened while I was in the office. Something that really scared me. The nurse took me through all the usual tests of temperature, heart moniter and then the blood pressure test, the things I have come to expect when I sit down in a doctor's office. I didn't think anything of it. That is, until my nurse did a double take at the monitor and asked me if I'd ever had high blood pressure before. I've had body image issues for a long time (what girl doesn't), long before my BMI became an issue. But I never really took it seriously because all of the mixed messages a girl can get, "don't change yourself for someone else's idea of beautiful!" "beauty is on the inside!" The Book Room

Hi Mom. This is what I've spent the past countless hours working on. The deadline snuck up on me. So due tomorrow is our Drawing (Perspective) Class's 2pt Perspective Inventive Interior Assignment. This is probably the one I'm most happy with that I've done this semester. Granted, I had my moments of being overwhelmed and asking my past self, "WHY did you think it was a good idea to fill four walls with books. WHY." But once it's all said and done I like it. A new part to this assignment that we didn't have to do before was add value.  And you know me. I avoid value at all costs, mainly because I have no idea what shadows do aside from they appear on the back of an object when the light source is on the other side. That's all I know. None of this bleeding into other shadows, changing lengths, PERSPECTIVE of a shadow (which is a thing I know because we did it in class and it was awful).
